An Idea
Hello there! I hope school is going well for all and that these past couple of weeks haven't been too stressful (Past couple of weeks? Doesn't it feel like it's been eons since summer?). I also hope that everyone has been able to read for their own enjoyment since our close on The Picture of Dorian Gray because there's nothing like forced school literature that can ruin the pleasure of reading.

And on the subject of forced school literature I would like to propose an idea. For my American Lit class I've been assigned some reading that could be good but better with friends. Are there any required books you think the club would like to read, or something you'd like some morel support for? Here's a list of what I've been given, leave a comment of what you've got and maybe we can work together!

Pudd'nhead Wilson, Mark Twain
A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams
Lolita, Nabokov
Sula, Morrison
Dogeaters, Hagedorn
The Lone Ranger Fistfights in Heaven, Alexie

and the rest I've already read and studied and am not re-reading...just don't tell my teacher

Current Mood: deviousdevious...sort of
Current Music: soccor game agaist Stanford outside my window that I hope we're winning

I haven't heard of any of those except for Streetcar, but I suppose I would read one of them with you, if you want me to. You are a devious little monkey!!

You have NEVER heard of Lolita? You're kidding right? The old Russian dude and his 13 year old girlfriend, a widely taught modern classic? I thought you'd jump on that one.

Oh, the one with the girl sucking a lollipop on the cover? That Lolita?
